April 2008:

• Christian’s first album, Kabir Percussion, is now available at various music stores. On this CD, diverse rhythms can be heard, with roots from Brazil, Africa and Latin-America.

• As a result, Kabir Percussion will offer a show at Kiosque Edwin-Bélanger next July 5th and will be part of the program of the Festival international d’été de Québec 2008 on July 7, 8 & 9th. Besides, they will perform in Montreal’s First Nations Garden (Montreal Botanical Garden), on August 9 & 10th.

• Also, among the various cultural activities to celebrate Quebec City’s 400th anniversary in 2008, Christian will take part to the organization of several artistic events, particularly thee opening ceremony of Espace 400e on June 6 & 7th. This show will gather a multitude of percussionists from various origins living in Quebec City.

• A tour of Quebec’s various regions is also planned with Son Cubano in 2008, for example during Chicoutimi’s Festival des rythmes du monde.

• Christian recently recorded music for the movie “Un été sans point ni coup sûr”, directed by Francis Lclerc, in theatres next August.

• During 2008 autumn, he will be directing the music for a 14 episode Tv series named TAM (the French acronym for Native Musical Talents), to be broadcasted by APTN for the next two years.

• He also keeps playing on the North-American and Asian tour Beatles Baroque with the Boréades de Montréal.

• Christian recently directed a group of percussionists during the world ‘s most important winter carnival, Le Carnaval de Québec, on its February 2008 edition.

• Besides, with 16 other percussionists, he played on December 31st 2007, at the mega opening show Le Coup d’envoi to celebrate the beginning of Quebec City’s 400th anniversary in 2008. This show was broadcasted by Radio-Canada and ART TV.

• Finally, next April 30th in Quebec City, Christian will offer a workshop during the international gathering for music therapists, the Canadian Association for Music Therapy’s 34th Annual Meeting.
