Kabir Percussion

his group of percussionists from the Quebec City region are the perfect choice for creating a carnival ambiance for your festive events. Its name, Kabir Percussion, comes from an Amerindian word, Kabir Kouba, a waterfall that links Wendake, a native Huron reserve, and Quebec City. This is where the group was founded by Christian Paré who mentions: “This image of the river that never stops flowing, as an endless flood linking two cultures, has definitely been an inexhaustible source of inspiration for me”.

Music is an excellent way to live the diversity of contemporary pluralists societies, to appreciate their cultural richness. Kabir Percussion is a superb reflection of this multiethnic reality. Indeed, this group’s musicians are from various origins and play instruments from all over the world: Senegal, Brazil, Australia, Chile, Wendake, Quebec. They play as a duet, a trio, a quintet and sometimes gather more than twenty. The musicians evolve on varied rhythms coming from Brazil, Africa, Latin America and the musical styles are modern melting ethnic and urban percussions. Carnival feelings, which will certainly make you dance.

Kabir Percussion also offers the possibility to add African dancers and other artists from various disciplines to the show. From the magical circus universe for example, spit fire, juggling, acrobats and clowns. They also wear make-up and costumes apropriate to the event.
