Bio

His love and passion for music encouraged Christian to study and discover various styles of music: North-Indian, Balinese, Amerindian, Latin-American, Brazilian, African, Celtic and Baroque. He’s also been interested in rock, jazz, blues and, of course, World beat music.

Besides learning these various rhythms, his academic training (Bachelor degree diploma in anthropology and musical studies in preparation for a master’s degree training in ethnomusicology at the University of Montreal), was followed by private training in California by legendary Masters including Ali Akbar Khan and Zakir Hussain (1979), Karl Perazzo (1995), in Japan with Giovanni Hidalgo (1996), in Cuba with Alberto Villareal, Lali Glez and Louis “Changuito” Quintana (2000). Twice, he travelled to West Africa where he took private lessons with musician soloists, Laurent Camara (1992 and 1993) of the Great Ballets of Guinea. Recently, in Easter island (2002 & 2004), with Rapa Nui musicians.
